Mexico was eliminated from the 2013 Confederations Cup after a 2-0 loss on Wednesday to host nation Brazil, but that reportedly didn’t stop them from having some fun. Reports surfaced that El Tri found their way to a strip club after the loss to lift their spirits.

It wouldn’t shock me in the least bit if the report was true, but Mexico head coach Jose Manuel de la Torre was quick to call the rumors false.

“No. We don’t have a report on that. It’s not like there’s even time to do that,” he said, via beIN Sports.

With the loss, Mexico was eliminated from the tournament. They have one final game against Japan before packing it up and focusing back on World Cup qualifying, but the El Tri coach isn’t ready to call this journey a failure.

“Failure? This is not a failure. Failure is when you stop fighting, we simply did not achieve a goal. Final results are always fair. This one was,” he added. “They played a good game, the team. This was a very good opponent and individual talent made the difference for them.

“We had some good approaches on goal. The team showed great character.”

Mexico and Japan end their tournaments on Saturday, June 22.
