Yesterday, the Denver Nuggets said they were ‘very optimistic’ about signing free agent to be Andre Iguodala, who earlier this month opted out of his contract.
Today, they’re even more confident, claiming that they are ‘100%’ that Iggy will be back in Denver.
Per Denver Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly, when asked about how confident he was that he’d be able to re-sign the former Arizona Wildcat:
“One-hundred percent. We’ve had some good discussions bout that already. I had a good conversation with his agent last week. Looking forward to following up with them. Andre’s somebody we definitely want to bring back and he’s well aware of our intentions to bring him back as well.”
While not the top free agent on the market, Iggy falls right behind the Dwight Howard/Chris Paul tier and should have no problem securing the long term deal he’s seeking. Will it be in Denver? Sure sounds like it will be if Tim Connelly has his way.
The 2012 NBA All-Star left just shy of $16 million dollars on the table by opting out.
