The Denver Nuggets fired George Karl after a 57-win season and NBA Coach of the Year honors, and now the team will be interviewing another coach that got the ax after leading his team to a 56-win season that was the highest win total in the franchise history. According to reports, the Nuggets will be interviewing former Los Angeles Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro.

From Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

"Del Negro will be the third candidate to meet with Nuggets management for the vacancy.Former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins and Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw met with team CEO Josh Kroenke and general manager Tim Connelly on Tuesday and Wednesday."

Del Negro has reached the playoffs four times in his coaching career and has earned a record of 210-184.

If the Nuggets are ready to win now like their roster suggests, Del Negro could be a great candidate with valuable experience leading a team to the postseason. It was just a year ago that Del Negro reached the Western Conference Finals with his squad.

It will be interesting to see if the Nuggets want to go with an experienced coach or a bright young mind waiting for his shot like Shaw, but either way it looks like the team will be getting a very capable head coach.
