Just a few weeks ago, University of Indiana star Victor Oladipo’s draft stock was rising at a rapid pace but after workouts, many teams have questioned his ability to ever become much of a shooter – a much needed aspect of being a two guard in the NBA.

Rumors of Oladipo’s demise could be more smokescreen than anything, but if he does fall below the fifth pick, which is owned by the Phoenix Suns, New Orleans general manager Dell Demps wants to be ready.

The Pelicans, who select sixth, recently visited Oladipo to get a better gauge on the intriguing talent.

New Orleans Pelicans general manager Dell Demps traveled to Washington on Friday to get a thorough evaluation of Indiana shooting guard Victor Oladipo, league sources confirmed.

Oladipo is an exceptional defender, a great leaper and extremely quick. Some teams, however, have concerns about his ability to defend taller shooting guards. Oladipo averaged 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds this past season for Indiana.
