Chicago Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa missed yesterday’s team practice and morning skate, but there was still a strong belief that he would be able to go in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight. On Saturday, Hossa once again missed the team’s practice session and skate, but his status for the game has not changed.

Head coach Joel Quenneville made it clear that Hossa would be suited up and on the ice for the team’s match up tonight against the Boston Bruins.

“He’s fine. He’s going to play, and we’ll say he should be better,” Quennevill said.

This is exactly the way that the Blackhawks handled Hossa leading up to Game 4 after being a late scratch in the previous game, so don’t expect anything other than the veteran suiting up for tonight’s game in the same line alongisde Michal Handzus and Patrick Sharp.

The Blackhawks and Bruins are scheduled to drop the puck tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET.
