Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade Had Knee Drained Prior To Game 7 of NBA Finals

Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade looked like a shell of his former self for the vast majority of the playoffs as he was not only dealing with a severe bone bruise, but also chronic arthritis in his knee.

However, Wade who was averaging extreme career lows during the Heat’s playoff run looked like a completely different player during Game 7 of the NBA Finals where he scored 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, blocked two shots and grabbed a steal – all on 11 of 21 shooting.

Was it the added adrenaline of a Game 7, winner take all, that inspired Wade? Well, while that might have had something to do with it, Wade had his knee drained prior to tip which was probably a major reason for his All-Star play.

Per Brian Windhorst:

In interview with AP, Dwyane Wade says he got left knee drained day of Game 7 & needed PRP treatments to right knee before playoffs

Wade is hopeful that he’ll avoid another offseason surgery.
