Miami Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna might not want to leave San Francisco.
After a game winning hit Thursday night, Ozuna struck again Friday night, giving the Marlins a late lead over the World Champion San Francisco Giants that they would not relinquish.
How did he do it? Extra batting practice before the game? Studying tape on opposing pitcher Tim Lincecum? Nope. By pigging out at local famed West Coast burger joint, In-N-Out.
Per the Miami Herald:
“My teammates say five (burgers),” Ozuna said. “Just three cheeseburgers and three cookies – 3 for 3. That’s a good deal.”
“I told him after the game I think he had four or five In-N-Out burgers and it may have been the reason he couldn’t catch that ball,” (Marlins manager) Redmond said. “He continues to grind and have good at-bats, and he’s gotten some big hits for us.”
Early season success aside for Ozuna who completely skipped Triple-A, he may want to lay off the burgers if he wants to remain in the big show. Then again, playing for the Marlins, it may still feel like Double-A.
