Report: Boston Celtics Doc Rivers Non-Interest In Los Angeles Clippers Trade Is Ploy

And you thought the Dwightnare was bad.

According to a report from Mark Heisler, the Boston Celtics and head coach Doc Rivers are attempting to play the Los Angeles Clippers.

Yesterday, after the two sides were unable to come to a deal, the Boston Celtics decided to break off trade talks. The Clippers had offered a future second round pick as compensation for Rivers, but the Celtics have held firm in their desire for a first round pick, something the Clippers refuse to part with.

Apparently tiring of the circular trade talks, the Celtics decided to move on and Doc Rivers said he was no longer interested in the Clippers head coaching job, or so we thought.

Source w/knowledge of talks tells SportsCity report Doc pulled out is #Celtic ploy to get Clippers to offer No. 1–so this isn’t dead yet.

Seriously, could this get any more annoying/stupid/irritating/pointless?

Without a coach, the Clippers can only ride this merry-g0-round for so long and the Celtics are just days away from having to make a decision on Paul Pierce‘s contract, so hopefully this will come to an end soon.
