It appears the road to recovery for Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is going well.
A few weeks after it was announced that Griffin was having ‘explosive’ sprints in practice, we have word that RGIII went through three consecutive days of making cuts and changing direction with no setbacks.
Per Mike Jones:
@RGIII this week went through 3 straight days of making cuts and changing direction. Knee responded well. No setbacks. #Redskins
The fact that Griffin went through three consecutive days of somewhat intense training and reported absolutely no setbacks has to be like angels singing to Redskin fans after the talented RGIII went down with a devastating ACL and LCL injury last year. The drills included heavy sprinting in opposite directions as well intense cutting in opposite directions.
The famed Dr. James Andrews refereed to Griffin as “superhuman” during his recovery period and given RGIII’s expectation that he’ll be back and ready for Game 1 of the regular season, the compliment isn’t that off base. Griffin is expected to visit Dr. Andrews a few more times before the season begins, just as progress checks.
