With the Chicago Blackhawks just one win away from closing out the Stanley Cup Finals and becoming the league champion, Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville gave fans some good news when he announced that the team is optimistic that team captain Jonathan Toews should be available for tomorrow’s game.
“Johnny is doing much better today. He’s progressed,” Quenneville said. “We’re optimistic that he might be playing tomorrow night. We’ll visit in the morning, and he seemed fine. So nothing has changed. Nothing is different. We’ll keep an eye on him, and we’ll go from there.”
If Toews is able to take the ice for Game 6, it will be a huge emotional boost for the team as they look to close out the Bruins and stake their claim to Lord Stanley’s Cup.
The Blackhawks and Bruins drop the puck at 8:00 p.m. ET on Monday night at the TD Garden in Boston.
