Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant Received Rehab Advice From David Beckham

While Kobe Bryant consulted with his doctors, obviously, advice on how to deal with his rehab came from an unlikely source – soccer megastar David Beckham.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, Bryant said that he received help from Beckham in how to deal with his torn Achilles tendon, which Bryant ruptured this past April. Becks, who’s grown very close with Bryant over the years, suffered the injury himself and felt some pointers would help the Los Angeles Lakers icon in his recovery.

Per ESPN Brazil, via the LA Times:

“Becks and I have grown to be pretty close since he’s been playing in Los Angeles for [the Galaxy] the last five years,” said Bryant in a video interview with ESPN.com.br on Friday while vacationing in Brazil (link in Portuguese).

“He and I talked for quite a bit about his process, and his recovery,” Kobe said. “He hasn’t had any issues with it since. He’s won several championships since the injury, so I’m pretty encouraged by that.”
