Manchester United Transfer News – Wayne Rooney has been linked with several clubs this summer, most notably Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. However, the British striker wants to stay at Old Trafford.
According to the Mirror, as soon as Rooney and new United boss David Moyes return from holiday this week, the 27-year-old will express his will to stay with the team:
Rooney’s message will be that he believes Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement can give him a new lease of life at the club he has now served for nine years.
He will make it clear to Moyes that at no time towards the end of last season did he tell Ferguson that he wanted a transfer.
Rooney did harbour some frustration about his constantly changing role in the team following Robin van Persie’s arrival at the club.
Rooney wanted to leave the club in the past, but ended up signing an extension. Rumors surfaced that he was not happy with his role on the team, but it seems that he has every intention to return to Old Trafford next season.
Moyes has also made it a point of emphasis to figure out what has been bothering Rooney and making a decision on his future with the club is a priority.
