NBA Draft 2013: Toronto Raptors Looking To Acquire A Pick
With the 2013 NBA draft approaching, the Toronto Raptors have been looking from the outside in. While the team has no picks in this year’s draft, it seems that Toronto would like to acquire a pick before Thursday:
Despite being a lottery team, the Raptors traded away their pick and were left out from this year’s reportedly weak draft class. Still, Toronto’s new general manager Masai Ujiri is known to find good players even lower down the draft and he probably has his eye on one or two prospects.
Ujiri, who is the former Denver Nuggets GM, found the likes of Kenneth Faried and Evan Fournier late in the first-round for his former team, so it’s understandable that he wants to acquire a pick in this year’s draft.
The Raptors are still determined to trade Andrea Bargnani this offseason, although the team might have to wait until the season actually starts, and Toronto’s immediate goal is to get back into the playoffs next season.
