Police continued their investigation into the murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd on Monday and the search once again led them very close to the home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. Police suited up in scuba gear to search a pond near the home. They also surveyed the nearby woods, which made it clear they were looking for a murder weapon.

When the morning search was over, the police said that no evidence was found.

[N]o evidence,” an unnamed officer said, according to Kevin Manahan of USA Today.

He was asked what the law enforcement officials were looking for and he replied with an answer that would have left Patriots head coach Bill Belichick happy.

“Evidence”, he said.

There are still plenty of questions that have yet to be answered in regards to the investigation, but it doesn’t look like police will get much closer until they get Hernandez to cooperate. Considering all of the evidence that is piling up, you have to believe that Hernandez knows who is responsible for pulling the trigger that lead to Lloyd’s death.

We will likely soon reach the point where the police will take Hernandez in for obstruction of justice. Until then, the police will continue to pour on the pressure.
