After turning down a move to St. Mary’s to play for Southampton, Kenyan international Victor Wanyama could be set to leave the Scottish Premier League to join the Barclays Premier League. The latest offer for the Kenyan captain and Celtic midfielder comes from Cardiff City, who are reportedly willing to spend £10m to bring in Wanyama.
Last season, the 21-year-old appeared in 49 games with nine goals.
It was just over a year ago that Wanyama became the first Kenyan player to score a goal in the Champions League and the first Kenyan to play professionally in the UK, so he will be looking for that same kind of success if he makes the move to Malky Mackay’s squad, where he would become Kenya’s first Premier League player.
Along with Cardiff City, there are reports that Liverpool and Everton could be looking to jump in the mix, but Cardiff City looks like the most likely landing spot out of the interested teams.
