And it looks like another head coaching vacancy has been filled.
According to the Denver Post, the Denver Nuggets have hired Brian Shaw to be their head coach.
Per the Post:
Nuggets hire Pacers asst BRIAN SHAW as coach, source tells Denver Post. Story coming
There’s been no word of any contract numbers as of yet, though, details are expected shortly.
Shaw, a former NBA player has spent the past decade working as an assistant for both the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers.
The former Laker player has been a head coaching candidate for multiple seasons, finally landing the gig after a handful of interviews with opposing franchises. It was reported last week that Shaw and the Los Angeles Clippers had contractual negotiations but the Clippers desire (more like Chris Paul‘s, desire) for Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers all but ended those talks.
Shaw will become a first time head coach.
The Nuggets began their replacement search earlier this month after firing George Karl, who had won the 2012-13 NBA Coach of the Year award but suffered another disappointing playoff exit.
