According to a report from ESPN’s Marc Stein, power forward Al Jefferson may have played his final game as a member of the Utah Jazz.

A free agent to be, the Utah Jazz may opt to spend their money elsewhere as according to Stein, they’re willing to let the big man leave in free agency this Summer.

Per Stein:

Been hearing this one more and more lately: Rising sense out there that Jazz might simply let big man Al Jefferson walk in free agency

Jefferson, a talented offensive player who averaged nearly 18 points and 9 rebounds a game last season would bring instant post scoring ability to a team in need, but his extremely sub-par defensive skills (despite a block per game) make him a liability on the court.

The Jazz haven’t ruled out a return for Jefferson, but his salary demands are expected to be relatively high, a price the Jazz organization may deem too lofty.

The 28 year old Jefferson is coming off a 5 year, $65 million dollar extension and is expected to want a raise from the $15 million he made this past season.
