The San Francisco Giants started out the season like you’d expect any reigning World Champion to do – on fire.
Despite a rough start to the season for their starting pitching, the Giants’ bats kept the Giants in the win column but there was one opponent the Giants couldn’t defeat – health.
Looking more like a medical ward, the Giants have dealt with a multitude of injuries through the first half of the 2013 season which has now dropped them to a lone game over .500 after losing three of four to the Miami Marlins at AT&T Park, a normally difficult venue for the opposition.
Thankfully for the Giants some help is on the way though as the Giants are expected to activate Pablo Sandoval from the disabled list this evening as the orange and black take on their bitter rivals from Southern California, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Sandoval has been out for over two weeks (and missed time prior) with a strained left foot but he appears to be healthy after a rehab stint with the Giants’ single-A affiliate, the San Jose Giants.
