The Chicago Blackhawks are one win away from the crown jewel.

After falling behind 2-1 in the best of seven series, the Blackhawks have won two straight over Boston to put them on the cusp of capturing Lord Stanley’s Cup for the second time in four years.

When Boston was on the verge of taking a firm grasp of the series heading into game four, the talk among those around the game was about the lack of production from Chicago’s top two players, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews.

Through the first three games of the series, Kane and Toews were held goalless which was a major reason for the Blackhawks’ inability to get a lead after the historic game one that ended in triple-overtime.

In game four, Kane and Toews each scored a goal in the second period of Chicago’s 6-5 OT win to even the series at two. In game three it was Kane whose scoring touch was in full swing.

On six shots Kane scored two goals, including the game winner, to put Chicago on the brink of a championship.

Now, the Bruins will have to win back-to-back games to win the cup, and goaltender Tuuka Rask will have to be the man that carries them to those victories.

If the Rask that showed up in games two and three shows up in game six, then Boston has a great chance of pushing the series to a deciding game 7. If not, the NHL season may come to an end on Monday night in Beantown.
