2013 NBA Draft Rumors: Washington Wizards Will Select Anthony Bennett?

So much smoke in here.

With just a few days – heck – more like a handful of hours until the 2013 NBA Draft, smokescreens are all over and it appears the Washington Wizards have planted one of their own.

According to a report from Sheridan Hoops, the Washington Wizards are planning to select Anthony Bennett with the third overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft Thursday night, skipping over Otto Porter.

Per Joe Kotoch:

The reason the Bobcats braintrust of Rich Cho and owner Michael Jordan believe Porter will be available is because, SheridanHoops has learned from league sources, the Washington Wizards are determined to draft Anthony Bennett of UNLV with the No. 3 pick.

While there’s nothing to dislike about the Wizards taking UNLV’s Bennett third overall, it’s been widely expected that the Wizards, in desperate need of a small forward would take Otto Porter, the Georgetown product who many deem as the most NBA ready player in the draft.
