Jason Terry signed with the Boston Celtics last offseason hoping to be part of a couple of championship runs. With Doc Rivers departing for the Los Angeles Clippers, things have changed a lot and the team is looking to blow things up. These recent events might have caught the Jet slightly off guard.

According to Boston Herald, Terry said:

"“I’m very surprised,” the 35-year-old guard said yesterday. “The reason I came to Boston was the opportunity to win another championship and to play for Doc Rivers. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo were there. I wanted to be part of Celtics lore and tradition.”“Does that change things? I have to find out,”“There’s a lot of summer left for us to adjust this roster to things,” said Terry. “Obviously you have the draft this week. Rajon Rondo is hurt, and he’s coming back from that. There’s just so much uncertainty that everyone is facing.”"

The Celtics were actually offering Courtney Lee or Terry as part of the negotiations with the Clippers, so it’s understandable that the current events are a little confusing for him.

Across the board, Terry’s numbers didn’t get that much worse last season, although he did score a lot less, which was more due to the reduced minutes he played and not necessarily a lack of efficiency. After starting the postseason slow, Terry averaged 15.8 points per game in the Celtics’ last four playoff games, before the team was eliminated by the New York Knicks.
