Alex Rodriguez finally made it to twitter and has wasted no time punching out a few tweets. One of his favorite topics has been his rehab and recovery. When Brian Cashman found out about A-Rod’s tweeting he wasn’t thrilled.
“You know what, when the Yankees want to announce something, [we will],” Cashman told ESPN New York. “Alex should just shut the f— up. That’s it. I’m going to call Alex now.”
The tweet that set of the Cashman tirade was this one:
Visit from Dr. Kelly over the weekend, who gave me the best news – the green light to play games again! http://t.co/RuzfXOJjHI

Cashman shot down a report yesterday that A-Rod had been cleared to play. So A-Rod tweeting a contradictory statement a day later has to be frustrating.
“He has not been cleared by our doctors to play in rehab games yet,” Cashman said on Monday. “He’s getting closer. There’s no doubt about it. But we don’t have a date for him to start playing games yet. It could be July 1. It could also be July 5, or maybe June 25.”
