NBA Draft 2013: Atlanta Hawks Want to Trade for Top Five Pick

Apparently, there are no teams happy with their draft selection this year. Top teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic have been attempting to trade their pick. Teams in the low lottery like the Minnesota Timberwolves have been trying to trade their pick and now teams picking in the low teens, like the Atlanta Hawks want to trade their picks.

According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo, the Atlanta Hawks have interest in moving up in Thursday’s NBA Draft and want to use both of their first round selections to do so.

Per Spears:

The Atlanta Hawks are dangling their two first-round picks for a trade in hopes of moving up in Thursday’s NBA draft, possibly as high as the top five, sources tell Yahoo! Sports.

The Hawks, who select 17th and 18th are extremely unlikely to find a taker who’ll drop from the top five to acquire two middle of the pack selections so one would have to assume a player would exchange hands if such a trade was to get completed.
