The Brooklyn Nets only currently have one pick in this year’s draft, the 22nd pick of the first round. The team has a couple of needs it is looking to address with that pick. They need a backup big man (power forward or center). They also will be looking for a backup point guard, but it is more likely they will get one in free agency than through the draft.

Lastly, they need guys who are good 3-point shooters. Mock drafts have been all over the place with who the Nets will take with their pick. My best guess is Gorgui Dieng out of Louisville.

There is also a chance the Nets will trade their pick, along with Kris Humphries and Marshon Brooks. This would allow them to improve by adding a veteran player rather than a rookie.
On top of their first rounder, Brooklyn will likely buy a mid-to-late second round pick to use to Euro-stash a player for a few years. They bought 3 second round picks last season and will probably be looking to do so again using their rich owner, Mikhail Prokhorov’s money.
