With the NBA looking to block any potential trade between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers that would be a follow up deal and send forward Kevin Garnett to the West coast, there is another team reaching out to Boston to see if they could free them of the veteran star. According to the New York Daily News, the Brooklyn Nets have inquired about Kevin Garnett possibly joining them at the Barclays Center.
Brooklyn and Boston would have to have preliminary talks to gauge Garnett’s interest in playing for the Nets, because of his no-trade clause.
It may not seem like a likely move on the surface, but Garnett would fill a big need for the Nets and give them a boost, while allowing Garnett to move on and finish his career in a comfortable situation.
Boston is moving on from their veteran players and they will be entering the season for a new coach, so if Garnett isn’t a fan of the Celtics future plans he could very well consider a move to Brooklyn.
