As Thursday night’s draft draws closer, there are a flurry of trade rumors surfacing with teams at the top of the draft looking to move up and down the draft order. One of the teams who currently sits inside of the top ten, the Minnesota Timberwolves, has the ability to land a top prospect, but they have their eyes set on an even higher draft pick and potential star.
The Wolves continue to try to move higher up in the draft to get their hands on Victor Oladipo. They’re offering Derrick Williams, the No. 9 and the No. 26 pick to move up, but so far haven’t found a taker. New Wolves GM Flip Saunders is enamored with Oladipo.
If the Timberwolves wanted to land Oladipo, they would have to jump inside the top five and likely the top three.
For the teams in the top few slots, they likely already have their eyes set on a certain player, so it wouldn’t make much sense to drop back in the draft order and pick up a player that has struggled to find his groove in the NBA.
