Fullback Vonta Leach has said that the New York Giants have expressed an interest in signing him to a deal. He said that the Giants contacted him the same day he was released by the Baltimore Ravens.
The Giants are one of the few teams who have a real need at fullback. Henry Hynoski suffered a knee injury a few months ago which required surgery. There is a high possibility that a contract can be signed between the two parties sometime this week. However, the Giants aren’t the only team interested in signing Leach. The Texans were a possibility a couple of weeks ago, but I think that the chances of Leach going to Houston are low.
The Miami Dolphins seem to be another top choice for Leach, at least they do in my opinion. Leach has a conection with Joe Philbin and Mike Sherman, because Leach did play for the Green Bay Packers during his career. And the Dolphins have what most players look for when in free agency…money. Miami has more money to offer than any other team that has an interest in picking up Vonta Leach. The Dolphins also have an extreme need for a fullback, so a deal may also be struck with them sometime soon as well.
