The New York Knicks are limited in the moves they can make this summer. According to New York post, a potential free agent the team could be targeting is the 30-year-old Will Bynum:
Free agency begins July 1 and they could fill the point guard slot with their mini mid-level exception of $3.1 million, with the Pistons’ Will Bynum as a target. But according to a source, the recent hiring of Maurice Cheeks in Detroit makes it more likely Bynum will re-sign there. Bynum and Cheeks are both from Chicago.
Bynum is coming off a decent enough season with the Pistons, and it seems that he is leaning to stay with the team.
The Knicks had quite a lot of depth at the point guard position last season, with Jason Kidd and Pablo Prigioni being able to back up Raymond Felton. While Kidd has retired and become the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, Prigioni wants to return to the NBA for at least another season, but it’s still uncertain whether that would be with the Knicks. The Argentinian will be a restricted free agent this summer.
