Channing Frye of the Phoenix Suns was forced to miss the whole of the 2012-13 season due to a heart disorder. He spent the season resting and doing light activities such as yoga, golf, walking and some shooting. He is hopeful that he can return to the NBA and play next season:

“We’re both trying to be safe,” Frye said from his Portland, Ore., home. “I’ve seen the best and it’s up to us to decide the best for my future. I’m extremely hopeful and optimistic that everything gets worked out and I get to play next year for the Suns.”

Obviously it’s a pretty scary situation, but you have to hope for the sake of Frye that he has managed to overcome the disorder and will be cleared to play next year. He clearly doesn’t think that his career is over and the Suns could definitely use his skill set. Frye is a stretch four, and has shot 0.39 percent from beyond the arc in his career.
