Yesterday we learned the the Houston Rockets were offered a first round pick for power forward Thomas Robinson. What picks those were, we weren’t certain of, but we did know that the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs all expressed interest in the talented former Kansas product.
Robinson, who was selected 5th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2012 NBA Draft was traded to the Rockets in a last ditch cash grab by the Kings former ownership and Robinson again looks to be on the move due to financial reasons.
With the Houston Rockets trying to clear as much cap space as possible, they’ve put Robinson on the trade block and have apparently been offered a first round pick from both the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Per ESPN’s Marc Stein:
Thomas Robinson to Cavs for No. 19 pick. Thomas Robinson to Bulls for No. 20. Word is both of those scenarios are on table for Rockets
If Robinson ever lives up to the hype that made him a top five pick, it could be a steal for whomever acquires the athletic forward.
