The Portland Trail Blazers selected Arizona power forward Grant Jerrett with the #40 pick, the tenth pick in the second round. He only played one year at Arizona, and it was a genuine surprise when he entered the draft after only averaging under eighteen minutes per game last year.
Jerrett is a good shooter, although you’d like to see him get on the glass a little more. He’s 6′ 10″ and averaged just 3.6 rebounds per game in 2012-13 for the Wildcats. He’s very athletic, and it will be interesting to see if the Blazers keep Jerrett or if he’s flipped to another organization.
