“Dutch”, as many called him, reportedly had not been feeling well in recent weeks and went to the doctor, where doctors discovered the bad news.

Darren Daulton has not been feeling well over the past two weeks. He went to the doctor who discovered two brain tumors and is scheduled for surgery early next week.  Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time. Of course we want to respect his privacy at a time like this, but if you would like to send him get well wishes you may do so at dutch@975thefanatic.com

Daulton played 14 seasons in the big leagues, the vast majority with the Phillies with whom he spent all but one season.

A former Silver Slugger award winner, Daulton was named a three time MLB All-Star and won a World Series Championship with the Phillies in 1993.
