NBA Draft 2013: Phoenix Suns 'Red Flagged' Nerlens Noel, May Fall Out of Top 10?

While a report that the Phoenix Suns have ‘red flagged’ Nerlens Noel seems like it could hold some merit, a report that he may fall out of the top ten seems extremely unlikely. However, that’s what NBADraft.net is reporting as apparently, league sources have told them not only have the Suns put up the red flag in regards to Noel’s knees, but it’s possible he may slip out of the top ten.

Per NBADraft.net:

We’re hearing from league sources that Nerlens Noel’s knee was red flagged by Suns. There’s speculation that he could slip out of top 10.

While Noel might indeed be passed over during the first few selections due to concerns over his knees, falling out of the top ten just doesn’t seem possible. There are far too many teams who’d be thrilled to take the risk on Noel before he fell out of the top ten, unless there is some catastrophic medical report NBA teams are keeping behind closed doors in regards to his knee.

As we saw last year, Perry Jones, who was expected to be a lotto pick ended up sliding all the way to the 28th pick thanks to injury concerns – so the threat of slipping is real, but I can’t imagine Noel would fall very far.
