It sounds as if the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets are getting closer and closer to a trade which will send both Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to their Eastern Division foe.
Celtics and Nets continue to make significant progress on parameters of a Garnett-Pierce deal, sources in talks tell Y! Sports.
For Boston to get Garnett to agree to waive his no trade, it takes a unique circumstance: Moving with Pierce to a big market might be it.
Wojo also reported that the Nets have been in discussions with a Western Conference team (and no, it can’t be the Los Angeles Clippers) about a trade (earlier we reported the Minnesota Timberwolves talked to Boston about Garnett) but he hinted that nobody is willing to go in as much as the Nets who appear dead set on acquiring Pierce.
The Celtics will not ask Kevin Garnett to waive his no-trade clause until a deal is complete and ready to be sent to the league.
