NBA Trade Rumors: Clippers Not Expected to Trade Eric Bledose Tonight Despite Interest

For a few weeks now, it’s been reported that the Los Angeles Clippers and the Orlando Magic were to agree on a draft night trade. Now, according to Yahoo’s Marc J. Spears, that trade will not be happening – at least not this evening.

Per Yahoo:

Clippers aren’t expected to trade Eric Bledsoe tonight despite interest from the Raptors, Pistons, Pelicans, Magic and Mavs, sources tell Y!

In all honesty, if no draft picks are being exchanged, it makes complete sense for the Clippers who still have not re-signed point guard Chris Paul.

While it’s expected that Paul will re-sign now that the team has hired Doc Rivers to be head coach, the last thing Los Angeles would want to do is trade their backup point guard if Paul was to randomly spurn them.

Both sides can afford to wait if the Magic and Clippers do rekindle their talks, but even if not, it appears they’ll have no trouble trading Bledsoe given the high amount of interest he’s receiving.
