When UFC champion Anderson Silva enters the cage to defend his title against Chris Weidman on Fourth of July weekend, all eyes will be on the octagon. We knew that these two men would be showing up to put on a show for the fans, but what we didn’t know was who would be the third man in the octagon.
Often times, the referee becomes a focal point as they interfere with the fight or make questionable decisions, but fans can breathe a sigh of relief with the knowledge that Herb Dean will be serving as the man in charge.
Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports had the report:
Herb Dean as ref, Adalaide Byrd, Marcos Rosales and Patricia Morse Jarman as judges are recommended for Silva-Weidman

Dean is one of the best referees in the sport, so it is comforting to know that such a high profile main event will be in good hands.
Lord only knows what could have happened if Steve Mazzagatti was in the cage.
UFC 162 will go down June 6 live on pay-per view from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Every time Silva is in the cage, it is must see action, so you won’t want to miss this fight which could be the toughest test in the past few years.
