Brooklyn Nets Want to Sign Kyle Korver

Fresh off of their trade for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, the Brooklyn Nets have set their sights on sharpshooter Kyle Korver.

Hoping to spread the floor, the former Atlanta Hawks gunner would certainly be a welcome addition for the newly re-built Nets.

Per Mike Mazzeo:

Unfortunately for the Nets, obtaining Korver isn’t going to be easy.

Well over the salary cap, it would take Korver either signing for the mid-level exception or a sign and trade to bring the former Creighton product to Brooklyn.

A mid-level contract would be a slight raise over Korver’s previous salary, which was $5 million, though it’s been rumored he’s looking for a larger deal after experiencing one of best professional seasons last year.

In terms of a sign and trade, it’s possible the Hawks would be interested as they only have a handful of players under contract for the 2013-14 season, but they may have little interest in the leftovers after the Nets trade with the Celtics.
