ESPN college football analyst Kirk Hebrstreit has been a staple of the network’s college football coverage and the he has been rewarded with a contract extension that will keep him at ESPN through 2020. Herbstreit is a regular on ESPN  College Gameday and he will continue to be an analyst for ABC’s Saturday Night Football with Brent Musburger.

Herbstreit will also have a bigger role in the college postseason when the playoffs begin in 2015.

One of the national semifinals and the national championship game will have Herbstreit’s presence, which will boost the coverage for those events.

A lot of people have been leaving ESPN in the past few years, but Herbstreit’s popularity and his knowledge was too much for the network to let him join the others and walking. For ESPN, it’s a great guy to bring back.
