The UFC announced an upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter earlier this month that is being dubbed “TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia”. The upcoming season will feature head coaches Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke, who will coach their respective countries, and the season will feature fighters in the middleweight and welterweight divisions.
MMA Junkie has additional details about the upcoming season, including tryout dates:
The show, tentatively scheduled to debut in early 2014, was initially expected to only feature welterweight UFC hopefuls. Canadian Cote and Australian Kyle Noke will serve as coaches. It has not yet been announced if the pair will meet in a traditional season-ending, coach-vs.-coach bout.
Tryouts will begin in September for “TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia,” which is the 22nd edition of the UFC’s long-running reality show. The tryouts will take place in Sydney and Toronto, though details won’t be released until next month.
The show will air in Canada on new Sportsnet property Sportsnet 360 and TVA Sports, and on FX in Australia. U.S. broadcast plans have not yet been announced.
This looks to have the makings of an entertaining season and the fight between the two coaches and former TUF cast members should provide fireworks as well.
