Dallas Mavericks Interested in Rajon Rondo to Attract Dwight Howard

There is no secret that the Dallas Mavericks are in high pursuit of soon to be free agent Dwight Howard, but they could soon be kicking things in to an even higher gear in an effort to land the star center. According to reports, a run at a potential trade with the Boston Celtics for Rajon Rondo is not out of the question.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

Adding Rondo to the Mavericks roster would certainly help them out in their pursuit of Dwight, but would the Celtics take on more bad contracts to ship a star away?

It seems highly unlikely.

However, when you consider these are the same Boston Celtics that just blew up their entire roster by sending Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets, anything could be possible.

Dwight Howard’s free agency saga is really heating up, so buckle up and enjoy the ride that will be in full swing beginning July 1.

This is more wishful thinking than anything grounded in reality. I don’t know why the Mavs getting high hopes that they landing Howard let alone, Rajon.

The Rockets already have that in the works. Plus, we can afford it. The Mavs can not. We have the pieces to supply the Celtics for a trade for Rajon. Dallas does not. If you read what the sources are saying, the Mavs “would love” to have Rajon. I can say I “would love” to tap Selma Hayek and marry her on the first day. Doesn’t mean I will get what I want…even if I met her and proposed to her.

So, you see, Dallas won’t be getting Rajon. They’re broke. We gonna make a play for Rajon once we secure Howard and the Mavs gonna weep on the sideline as fools that “thought” they could get Howard and Rajon on the same team. Smh.
