It was reported earlier today that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would be making the trip to Los Angeles to make a pitch to free agent Dwight Howard on Monday, July 1, when NBA free agency officially kicks off. As we learn more details about the meeting, we have learned that Cuban will be joined by Mavericks star forward Dirk Nowitzki for the pitch to Howard.
ESPN’s Chris Broussard passed along the news today:

There are reports that Howard is intrigued with the idea of joining Nowitzki in the Mavericks frontcourt, so it is smart of the Mavericks to get these two acquainted as soon as possible.
Howard will also be meeting with the Houston Rockets, who will be joined by Hall of Famers Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon for their pitch to the highly coveted big man.
As more information becomes available, it seems clear that Howard’s decision will come down to the Mavericks or Rockets.
Whether or not this saga drags long in to free agency remains to be seen.
