Golden State Warriors Will Now Meet With Dwight Howard

Earlier today it was reported by Comcast Sports Bay Area insider Ric Bucher that Dwight Howard would not meet with the Golden State Warriors, however, that appears to be incorrect.

According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, it’s likely the two sides will meet now, contrary to Bucher’s initial report:

Golden State trying to get a visit with Dwight Howard too. Source says he’ll likely meet with them.

It’s unknown where the change came from, though, it’s most likely another goof on the long list of errors by Bucher.

Even though a meeting will reportedly take place, it’s difficult to imagine a scenario where Dwight would end up in Oakland. The Warriors have a pretty lofty payroll for the upcoming season so signing Dwight outright really isn’t possible.

The Warriors do have some nice assets, but the Warriors will want to keep their core together which leaves little meat on the bone for the Lakers in a sign and trade scenario.

It’s likely the two sides will exchange nice, play nice and say they made an effort but the likelihood of Dwight ending up in Oakland is nearly null.
