Hakeem Olajuwon Will Help Houston Rockets Try to Sign Dwight Howard

While the Los Angeles Lakers have a near unrivaled (well, the Boston Celtics would disagree) history, they don’t have Hakeem Olajuwon. That’s the thinking of the Houston Rockets, who according to ESPN’s Marc Stein will employ their former great in attempts to woo Howard to Texas.

Per Stein:

Getting strong indications that Hakeem Olajuwon, last seen at Thursday’s draft, will be joining Rockets’ delegation to woo Dwight Howard

Howard is a guy that loves attention so he’s undoubtedly eating all of this up.

The Dream has spent a large portion of his post retirement career helping players like LeBron James and Amare Stoudemire fine tune their craft, something Howard would benefit from. It also doesn’t hurt to have somebody as imposing as Hakeem place a bug in the ear of the impressionable Howard.

How helpful it will be remains to be seen, but it’s clear teams are going to be pulling out all of the stops for Dwight.
