Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has something up his sleeves. According to a Dallas Morning News report, Cuban says the Mavericks have meetings in Los Angeles with a few “unnamed players”. You can immediately connect soon to be free agents Dwight Howard and Chris Paul to the team, especially since the two stars have been called the Mavericks top priorities this offseason.
It is unlikely that the Mavericks would be able to land both players, but signing Howard is becoming more and more realistic by the day.
In one of the most recent reports, Howard is said to “really like” like Mavericks.
Teaming up Howard and Dirk Nowitzki in the front court would be incredible for Dallas and it would also mean that the Mavericks would be Howard’s team in a few years.
If there was any chance that the team could land Paul away from the Los Angeles Clippers, then they would have to be considered the favorites in the Western Conference. Howard and Paul have reportedly talked about playing with each other, so who knows what could happen once NBA Free Agency begins.
One thing is for certain and that is the Mavericks are preparing to make a big splash in free agency and they certainly have the means to do so.
