New Jersey Devils netminder Martin Brodeur was in attendance at the 2013 NHL Draft at the Prudential Center to officially unveil his cover for EA Sports upcoming NHL 14 release, but it was a moment that happened later in the night that Brodeur will never forget.
With the final round in the draft upon us, the Devils were without a pick. However, they decided to trade up with the Los Angeles Kings to get the 208th pick in the draft when the team gave Brodeur the opportunity to announce that New Jersey was selecting his son, Anthony.
It was a great father-son moment and one that really helps to show what we love about sports.
For Anthony, it was a dream come true and to join his father’s team and have the pick announced by his father had to add to the excitement. For Brodeur, it took his proud moment as a father and made it that much more special.
