NBA Free Agency: Kevin Martin Expected to Attract Plenty of Attention

NBA Free Agency will officially kick off just after midnight Eastern Time and one of the players who could see a lot of early action is guard Kevin Martin. While Martin has said that he prefers to stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder and that he is even willing to take a pay cut, the number of teams interested could start a bidding war that could quickly change Martin’s mind once he sees the dollars pouring in.

According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, as many as six teams could be in the mix for Martin.

Martin is previously quoted as saying, ”I’m at a point in my career where I don’t need to get what I can get [monetarily]. It’s more about happiness … being on a championship-caliber team and being on a team trying to make it into the playoffs.”

If he really means that, we will see it on display during free agency if he opts to return to Oklahoma City for a cheaper price tag.

Of course, if the Dallas Mavericks land Dwight Howard, that would be a chance to win a championship as well.
