It looks like Barcelona striker David Villa will be choosing his new home next week and he is leaning towards a certain club. According to recent reports, the 31-year-old Spanish international will be choosing to sign with Tottenham Hotspur over Fiorentina.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is more than willing to meet Barcelona’s £12 million price tag for David Villa, especially since he wants to alter the team’s 4-3-3 formation for next season.
Villa is finishing off an impressive run for the Spain international team in the 2013 Confederations Cup, which comes to an end on Sunday evening when the Spanish side takes on host national Brazil in the championship match.
Throughout the tournament, Spain has gone undefeated while dominating their opponents from the opening whistle.
Spain’s Confederations Cup run includes a 10-0 win over Tahiti, where David Villa was able to net a hat trick.
Once David Villa has completed his most recent outing with the national squad, he can turn his full attention towards finalizing his decision which is expected to be signing on the dotted line for Villas-Boas and Tottenham.
