The Houston Rockets were the first team to make their pitch to NBA free agent prize Dwight Howard. Their meeting lasted several hours and included general manager Daryl Morey, owner Les Alexander, head coach Kevin McHale, players James Harden and Chandler Parsons and legends Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler.

Prior to the start of the meeting though Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak had a brief face-to-face with with Dwight Howard. According to Hoopsworld, Kupchak went to the hotel where Howard is staying. The Lakers’ GM reportedly only offered Howard a quick hello and good luck as he goes through this chaotic process.

But the Lakers have one request of the all star center acording to Hoopsworld:

“The Lakers requested to be the final team to meet with Howard so they’ll give their presentation on Tuesday. Kupchak wanted to be “the first person and last person” that Howard communicated with as he sets out to make his free agency decision, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.”
