As the Los Angeles Lakers continue to float around interest in a number of available free agents, another name has been added to the mix. This time around the Lakers are linked to having interest in Cleveland Cavaliers free agent shooting guard Wayne Ellington who the team failed to give a qualifying offer to.

From Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles:

McMenamin certainly has a point.

Los Angeles has had their names pop up for a number of the early trade rumors and nearly every name they have been linked to is a quality shooter.

Whether their interest in Ellington is serious or not remains to be seen, but it is clear that the Lakers are exploring Plan A, Plan B and beyond when it comes to the top shooters available on the open market.

Free agency kicked off just after midnight, so be sure to stay tuned to FanSided.com throughout the free agency period as we keep you up to date with the latest news and rumors from around the league.
