The New Orleans Pelicans wasted no time showing their interest in Sacramento Kings free agent point guard Tyreke Evans when the clock struck midnight, and there fast approach may have paid off. According to the latest reports, Evans could be signing an offer sheet with the Pelicans as soon as Monday night.

Any deal would reportedly be “substantial”, but the Kings still reserve the right to match any offer that comes his way.

From Jimmy Spencer of Bleacher Report:

If an agreement takes place, Evans would become one of the first players to agree in principle to a new deal.

Obviously Chris Paul is the biggest domino to already fall, so the point guard market could find some quick action early.
